The rest, as they say, is history.

What followed was nothing short of a cultural phenomenon. In their heyday, you couldn't walk down the street without spotting a pair. The magic was in the stretch — wear them knee-high for a bold statement or fold them down to the ankle for a laid-back look. Either way, they were yours. Red and blue stripes on white cotton became the signature style, a nod to the American flag and the spirit behind every pair.

Then the 80s and 90s happened, and the tube sock faded into the background.

But we never forgot.
